- What worked? The flash helped the awkwardly lited room, and I was able to get close photos because of how the room was structured.
- What did not work? Sometimes the media was in the way of the photo, so it was hard to take a photo without them.
- What did you learn? To move around, try taking photos kneeling. This photo was actually taken when I was kneeling.
- What would you have done differently? I will not wear heels while covering an event.

Mesquite Assignment 4_Luna
Dr. Maria Hernandez Ferrier, president of Texas A&M-San Antonio, addresses the Texas Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs and Military Installations House Committee on Defense and Veterans’ Affairs, during a joint hearing Nov. 20 at Texas A&M-San Antonio Brooks City-Base. The purpose of the hearing was to investigate the impact of federal actions, including the recent government shutdown, on active duty service members, veterans, their families and other impacted populations. “We’re not just military-friendly, we’re military embracing,” Ferrier said, thanking senators and representatives for choosing to hold the hearing at Brooks City-Base Campus.
