While we didn’t get to complete our
assignment, I did have a great experience working with Jacob Beltran. I made myself available two days this week to
complete the assignment, however due to scheduling conflicts with the reporter
and photographer things got a bit delayed.
We were to meet at noon on Thursday, but that got delayed until
3pm. I did show up at 3 PM, however we
did not end up meeting until 3:45.
Our
assignment was simple to take a photo of a veteran. Jacob and myself met up, and we decided to go
to the office of student and veterans affairs.
We did meet with someone, who explained that the office that we were
looking for are split into two offices.
One of the offices was on main campus, and the office we needed was
located at the Gillette campus.
Since
we had been delayed, I was not able to go to the Gillette campus to complete
the assignment. I don’t think Jacob was
planning on going at that exact moment either.
Jacob of course, being the professional that he is didn’t want to waste
the opportunity, and he gave me a tutorial that included the basics of
photography, and gave me a lesson about taking portraits.
I
know that it was just the basic lessons that you went over in class, but it was
a big help to have that one on one time with Jacob. I really feel that although we didn’t get to
complete the assignment, I have a better understanding of the basics of
photography.
Michael, great job on making time with the photographer. Though, you did not get to experience exactly what Jacob the Photographer does initially, you made time with him well spent. Also, kudos on the pictures, they capture the environment of what you were learning behind the camera.
